The weeks and months keep coming and you keep earning money (or not), yet it’s hard to get a big-picture view on why things are happening the way they are.

Personally, I’ve always resisted pulling back the curtain, for fear of what I might find.

That is, until I realized that pulling back the curtain meant I could actually start affecting changes in my business in a way that I liked and wanted. I realized I could actually start feeling like I was in control of things in my business, rather than being controlled by it.

Part of that was getting very real with myself about having a plan—even if loose and ambiguous, I knew I needed to have direction and a way of understanding whether I was actually making my way toward my goals, rather than veering off on some other unrelated path.

With that, I decided I needed to develop something tangible and specific to start tracking my goals. No more of this “keeping it in the back of my head” bullshit.

So, I created this annual business planner, and while it’s basic-ish, it packs a powerful punch when it comes to drilling down into the granular details of my day-to-day and week-to-week work that is in service of (or working against) my larger goals.

I would love nothing more than to help other private practice owners and small business owners create doable, workable plans that help them get a grip on the inner working of their business.
